Book Review: When you Let God Prevail by Ganel-Lyn Condie

Book Description:

In his October 2020 general conference address, President Russell M. Nelson posed a powerful question to members of the Church: Are you willing to let God prevail in your life? In response to this query, popular author and Real Talk podcast co-host Ganel-Lyn Condie delves into seven key concepts that illustrate what the invitation to let God prevail; means in your life and the steps you can take to allow the will of the Lord to guide your actions day to day. Learn what you can do to more fully offer the Lord a willing heart and discover the mighty miracles that can be yours as you allow His will to prevail.

Review:

This is a short, easy to read booklet, but I don't recommend finishing it in one sitting. Books like this need to be read one section at a time, and then taking the time to ponder on the ideas that were presented. The basic premise of this book is that no matter what is going on in your life (and there is oh, so much going on out there right now!) you need only look to God to find certainty and hope.

The author breaks the book down in to seven different promises that God has made to us if we let Him prevail in our lives. If you have been religious your entire life, you probably already know all of these things, but just because you know them doesn't mean you fully comprehend them, or even feel like these promises were meant for you as an individual. I found that I marked several areas in this book that stood out to me, one of which is that I am worth saving. Me, individually. It's easy to think of God's promises as blanket statements that apply to "them" but perhaps not as easy to think of these promises as applying directly to me as an individual. It's always good to be reminded that God knows and loves me as an individual.
