Caden's Review:
The final book, its finally here! It just seems like yesterday that the first one came out. While it's not the best in its series, it certainly should be on your to read list. The only bad things I could find in it is that the beginning is a little fuzzy and it doesn't do a very good job at explaining where the characters are and what they have done in the space between book two and three. Also, I didn't reread the second book before reading this on so I might just be confused, but I think that some of the character backgrounds are unclear and while it adds to the mystery of the story, it doesn't help me as the reader. But beside this, this is a very good book. It perfectly blends humor with a taste of excitement and adventure.
I love how Frank Cole incorporates inanimate objects like the motorcycle, Estelle. It added to the feel of fantasy and magic. It was also kind of a twist to have some of the bad guys (the swigs) in earlier books to become allies to stop Mezzarix, which was very fun to watch unfold indeed. Just like several great series like Harry Potter, this one ended with a lot of battles which kept the reader hooked. Frank really knows what he's doing doesn't he?
Braden's Review:
This book is even better than the first. I love the ideas and the story line. Frank L. Cole has amazing ideas and is an awesome author. He puts another great part in the Potion Masters series. Here is a book I would suggest to anyone. My favorite character is Bolter. He is funny and great.
Collin's Review:
The third and final book in this series was a fun read. Gordy and
his friends, allies, and "frenemies" all have to work together to
overcome the impossible in this book. The Vessel has been stolen by
none other than his Grandfather, Mezzarix, who wants
to turn the world into a place where no governments/laws/restrictions
exist. With the power of the Vessel, he has the power to do just that.
There will be no electricity, or modern conveniences, and utter chaos
will rule. The most powerful elixerists in
the world are powerless against the vessel. Gordy even has to work
against his own mother, who wants to ship him off to a safe place,
rather than be in danger when the world as we know it ends. What will
Gordy and his friends do? I enjoyed reading all about
Gordy's new challenges, and how he extends himself to meet those
challenges. His Friends and frenemies also have a lot of learning and
working together to do to defeat Mezzarix. For me, the best part was
when Gordy had to make the decision on whether to
join his grandfather(a very tempting thing, as he has all the cards in
this game), or to find a way to defeat him against all odds. I highly
recommend this book.
