Blog Tour: Stranded by Dani Pettrey

Review * Giveaway

Book Description:

Stranded (Alaskan Courage #3)

When her friend vanishes from a cruise ship, reporter Darcy St. James isn't satisfied with their explanation that she simply left her job of her own accord. Something isn't lining up, and Darcy believes the only way to find the truth is to put herself in Abby's position. Within days, Darcy learns her friend wasn't the only person to disappear mysteriously. Last summer, a woman vanished under almost identical circumstances.

Gage McKenna has taken a summer-long stint leading adventure excursions for the passengers of various cruise lines that dock for a few days of sightseeing. He's surprised to find Darcy working aboard one of the ships, investigating a troubling report. Something sinister is going on and the deeper they dig the more Gage fears they've only discovered the tip of the iceberg.

Tarah's Review:

When I saw that Dani Pettrey had come out with a new book, I got really excited.  I enjoyed Submerged and really liked Shattered. I was excited to see Gage's story continue with Darcy. Right away I was drawn into the book wondering what was going to happen. I will admit to some confusion though. Maybe it's because some time had past from when I read Shattered but there were things that I didn't ever remember being discussed that apparently were.

I found Darcy to be a strong character, and I loved her spunk, enthusiasm, and loyalty. Her character had me looking at myself and wondering what kind of friend I am to people.

Overall I would recommend the book, and I'm excited to see what happens with Kayden, but it wasn't my favorite out of the three written so far. I think it's because Gage spent a lot of the time being angry.  If I hadn't gotten to know him in the last book I don't know that I would have liked him very much in this one.  The climax seemed a little rushed too, but I will read this again, and am eagerly awaiting her next book to come out. The Christen Fiction genre is quickly becoming a fast favorite of mine.

Andrea's Review:

I listened to another Dani Pettrey book awhile ago and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to read more of her work. I didn't realize that Stranded was the third book in a series when I started it though. The book I listened to was the first, so I did feel a little lost at times when things were referred to that must have happened in the second book.

I really liked that this was clean, although it seemed a lot more focused on spiritual conversion than I remembered Pettrey's other book to be. The mystery portion of the book was good, but I found that the conversion parts didn't flow very well at times with the rest if the story.

I liked the characters and was surprised at the bad guy. Pettrey kept me guessing. I had some suspicions, but I was somewhat surprised about everyone that was involved.
