Book Review:

When I signed up to review this book my original thought was that this was going to be a quick read because really, how many women are in the scriptures? Wow, was I ever wrong, and happy to be so. Not only was I surprised by how big the book was, but I was shocked that there were so many women in the New Testament.
I can't even put in words how much I'm enjoying this book. Not only is it beautifully illustrated, but it really portrays the love that the Savior has for all of His children. I'm really enjoying how it explains somethings that I just didn't understand, and knew that if I could understand the culture behind it the scripture would make more sense.
I love how this book brings the women in the scriptures alive and makes them real to me and my everyday life. With the Christmas season coming up (really, I see Christmas stuff everywhere...) it was special to read about Mary and her struggles, and heartaches, and bravery, and faith, and courage, and love. This book gets me excited about the scriptures, and I'll admit I'm not well-versed in the Bible, and I struggle with reading it (I'm reading the Old Testament right now and it is slooooow going).
This is a beautiful book, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to check it out.
